Saturday, August 21, 2010 Members of WHBFD faced off in a softball game against members of the 106 precint Auxillary. WHBFD was victorious 9-8 after coming back from a deficit.

Sunday, July 18, 2010 1920 E 946, BFU-1 , AMB 947, C-941 and DC942 responded to a report of a brush fire located at 165th Avenue and 84th Street in New Howard Beach. Upon the arrival of BFU-1, Capt Zych announced the 10-75 for large area bursh located in two different spots. One was located at 165 avenue and 82st and the other was located at 84st between 165 and 164 avenues.
Sunday, July 11, 2010 On July 11th 2010, The West Hamilton Beach Fire Dept. showed its appreciation of other organizations within the community by bringing our apparatus to the New York Families for Autistic Children's 2010 Annual Car Wash and Car show in Howard Beach.

Tuesday, June 22, 2010 2036 E-946 and A-947 responded for a report of a Overturned Truck on the Nassau Expressway at the Van Wyck Expressway. Upon the confirmation of an overturn DC-942 also responded. Upon arrival there was a tow truck overturned onto its roof in the ditch. The patient was able to walk away from the vehicle with minor injuries.
Friday, June 4, 2010 Kindergartners from PS 146 located in Howard Beach went on a field trip today to visit the West Hamilton Beach FD and Ambulance Corp firehouse. The Children as well as the teachers and parents were able to try on equipment, see a real life scenario of firefighters and EMTs gearing up for an emergency and operate equipment. They were also able to ride on the apparatus and tour the quarters.
Monday, May 31, 2010 West Hamilton Beach Fire Department & Ambulance Corp participated in the Annual Howard Beach Memorial Day Parade. Ceremonies begin at Our Lady of Grace Church followed by a parade. The Parade begins and ends in Coleman Square, also known as The Howard Beach Train Stop, the parade continues through the neighborhood making stops at the Assembly of God Church, St. Barnabas Church and the intersections of Cohancy st, 156 avenue and 157 avenue.
Sunday, May 30, 2010 At approximately 1638 hours, E946 was dispatched for Queens Box 8411 on the North Channel Bridge reported to be an overturned SUV with entrapment and fire in the vehicle. Upon arrival, Engine 946 confirmed the overturn with fire in the vehicle, all occupants were able to exit the vehicle with minor injuries prior to the start of the fire. Also due to the location, a water relay was engaged from E946 to supply FDNY E331. Units on scene - FDNY BC51, E266, L173, C473, 47B3 & 100 pct.
Friday, May 28, 2010 The Hamilton Beach Civic Association as well as the WHBFD&AC joined together for its annual Flag raising throughout Hamilton Beach in preparation for the Memorial Day Weekend.
