Saturday, December 3, 2011  WHBFD Squad 944 responded to the report of a fire in the rear of a private dwelling. FDNY E331 transmitted  the 10-75 for heavy fire in the top floor of the private dwelling. Members of SQ944 advanced throughout the dwelling conducting primary searches, venting and checking for advancement of fire.


     



 

Congrats to FF OMalley and FF Baumann

Saturday, November 19, 2011   FF/EMT OMalley and FF/EMT Baumann represented the department in great fashion by completing the Rugged Maniac Race on November 19th at Aviator Sports Complex in Floyd Bennet Field, Brooklyn.  FF/EMT had also represented the Department by competing in the Annual 9-11 Steven Siller Tunnel to Towers run and finishing in the top 500.

Thursday, November 10, 2011  Back in April of 2001, NY1 did a special called "New Yorker of the Week" on Chief Kevin M. Delano, only 5 months prior to the tragdic day of September 11,2001.  Sadly Chief Delano passed on July 30th 2008.

Toys4Tots Run & Middle Village Veterans Parade

Sunday, November 6, 2011  The West Hamilton Beach Fire Dept once again showed their pride for a very special cause.  It was a very busy day we joined in the thanks for our veterans and those currently serving in the First Annual Middle Village Veterans Day Parade. After we showed our continuous support to the Annual Toys For Tots Parade.

     



 

BOX 2040 - VEHICLE INTO BOAT

Thursday, October 20, 2011 0833 On October 20th, 2011 WHBFD recieved multiple phone calls as well as an alarm for the report of a vehicle into a boat. Which can be very possible as we are surrounded by water and with the upcoming cold weather, residents are removing boats from the water in preparations.  Once on scene A947-1 did not expect to see what they saw. The pictured van had fled the scene of an accident and was wrecklessly driven through the neighborhood until he drove through The Howard Beach Motor Boat Clubs lot landing on a docked boat. The Driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after being removed from the water by NYPD Harbor ADAM and ESU 9.

ALL HANDS - 164 Avenue & Crossbay

Monday, October 17, 2011 0832 On October 17th, 2011 WHBFD recieved an alarm for the report of a fire in the pizzeria at the location. FDNY E331 & L173 were first on scene and transmitted a 10-75 for heavy fire in the cockloft at the location. A947-1 and DC942 responded to the alarm that was transmitted to an All Hands.

     



 

Overturned Trailer

Sunday, October 16, 2011 1832 WHBFD received numerous calls for the report of a overturned tractor trailer on Crossbay Boulevard at 164 avenue. Upon arrival, the overturn was confined to a 15 foot long multipurpose trailer.


     



 

Four Car MVA Belt at Cohancy

Sunday, September 25, 2011  E946 and AMB 947 responded to the report of a two car mva at the Belt Parkway and Lefferts boulevard. Upon arrival the MVA was found to be at the Belt Parkway and Cohancy St West bound.  The original report of two cars involved turned in to a total of four vehicles with three injuries.
